Hidden gem swimming pools at luxury London hotels

London's frenetic cityscape is home to a surprising number of large and inviting swimming pools. And the best of these can be found in five-star hotels.

From The Berkeley's rooftop mosaic-tiled design overlooking Hyde Park to The Rembrandt's Romanesque affair, these venues offer a level of luxury and indulgence you just won't find at your local leisure centre.

This ambiance comes at a considerable price for non-hotel guests, but it may be worth paying on the odd occasion for the space and calm to swim in, plus extras such as massage jets, scented candles and fluffy white dressing gowns.

Treat yourself to our pick of London's most indulgent pools, with a few more budget-friendly options thrown in too, for good measure.

  • The Berkeley, SW1

This retractable rooftop pool is the stuff of dreams, with iridescent white and gold mosaic tiling and a nearby secret garden full of scented blooms. On the 7th floor of the hotel, it boosts views over Hyde Park but entrance will set you back an eye-watering £150 per person, per day.

Monday to Friday 6am-10pm and weekends 7am-9pm,

  • Grange Holborn Hotel, WC1

This invitingly scenic pool can be found in the centre of the West End, a 10-minute walk from Covent Garden. It's located in the hotel's Ajala Spa and non-guests can take a dip for £20 a day.
