Nigella Lawson teams up with Kirsty Young

Queen of the kitchen Nigella Lawson will be joining forces with veteran broadcaster Kirsty Young this week for "a wide-ranging, engaging and frank discussion" at London's Criterion theatre.

The talk takes place on Sunday 12 June at 7.30pm and will see the two leading female personalities engage in an intimate dialogue in front of a live audience.

Kirsty is credited with bringing a fresh perspective to Radio 4 show Desert Island Discs, where her quietly determined interviewing style has been tried and tested on all manner of famous names - or "castaways" - from Martin Sheen to Debbie Harry.

Nigella, whose latest cookery book Kitchen: Recipes from the Heart of the Home, was published to rave reviews, is eager to be added to the role call of Kirsty's subjects.

“I look forward to my evening at the Criterion," she said. "Beautiful venue, great company, and I can't think of a more impressive interviewer."

Kirsty (above), who also fronts BBC One programme Crimewatch, is equally enthusiastic. “In conversation with a modern-day icon in one of our most beautiful theatres, in front of a live audience; I'm delighted,” she said.

The evening will be filmed for a special Sky TV production and fans will have the opportunity to take part in a Q&A session when the floor is opened up.
