  • Mademoiselle Chanel, 1937

    The woman who started it all, Coco Chanel launched her No5 fragrance in 1921. Legend has it that the aroma still lingers in her apartment today.

  • Lauren Hutton, 1968

    American actress and model was one of the iconic faces of the 60s. Her natural sun kissed beauty was envied by many. She also featured in films such as The Gambler, American Gigolo and Paper Dolls.

  • Cheryl Tiegs, 1969

    Cheryl Tiegs was one of the most famous American models of the 70s. She became a household name after modelling for Sports Illustrated magazine and big cosmetic firms Cover Girl and Revlon. Before all this she shot this classic image for Chanel No5.

  • Catherine Deneuve, 1971

    One of France’s most successful actresses, Deneuve shot to fame in Roman Polanski’s Repulsion and notorious prostitute drama Belle de Jour. Her iconic, mysterious beauty made her the perfect ambassador for Chanel No5.

  • Carole Bouquet, 1993

    French actress and model, Bouquet won international acclaim as a Bond girl in 1981’s film For Your Eyes Only. She modelled for Chanel in the 90s and was said to incarnate the ideal French woman of today.

  • Estella Warren, 2000

    Warren was everywhere in the early Noughties; modelling for various magazines, acting in films such as Planet of the Apes and The Cooler, and appearing in two television commercials for Chanel No5.

  • Nicole Kidman, 2007

    Kidman’s collaboration with director Baz Luhrmann made perfume and advert history as the world’s most expensive commercial. The four-minute short was entitled No 5: The Film and reportedly cost £18 million to make.

  • Audrey Tautou, 2009

    French actress Tautou is the fragrance's latest face and is quite an apt choice; she starred in film Coco Before Chanel in 2009 to much acclaim, and many have commented that Tautou has a remarkable resemblance to Mademoiselle Chanel herself.
